Green Resources has appointed Enver Mapanda as General Manager Forestry – Mozambique. In this new role, Enver will be providing leadership, oversight, and management to staff working in forestry, sales, and corporate social responsibility operations in Mozambique.
Enver holds two Masters degrees in Science : a Masters of Wood Science, specializing in Forestry Products from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and a Masters of Geo-information Science, specializing in Planning and Coordination of Natural Resources from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. She also holds a Bachelors degree in Economics. Enver has been involved in forestry for over twenty years during which time she gained extensive experience in various forestry disciplines including nursery management, silviculture, harvesting, GIS, Saw-milling, Wood Preservation, FSC certification, and lecturing forestry economics. Enver is an author of several forestry journal articles. She was born and raised in Bikita, Zimbabwe, and is married with two children.
Before joining Green Resources, Enver worked in commercial operations for Border Timbers as a Planning Manager, Africa and Timber Farming Company in Mozambique as a Plantation Development Manager, Hans Merensky in South Africa as an Estate Manager and Global Woods in Uganda as Head of Forestry.
Green Resources is East Africa’s largest forest development and wood processing company. The company manages approximately 38 000 Ha of plantation forest in Mozambique, Tanzania, and Uganda combined. In Mozambique, Green Resources manages 13 000Ha of planted forest with operations located in Niassa Province which is located in Northern Mozambique. The Mozambican operations produce transmission poles, saw-logs and also sell biomass to a large Agro-processing operation.
